LMFT #53674

I have worked for over 10 years in community mental health settings and with young adults in college counseling centers. I specialize in helping individuals and couples recover from issues related to relationships, self-esteem, career and life transitions, depression, and anxiety. As a wife and mother of two, I am especially passionate about providing postpartum therapy to parents or caretakers.

In addition to my role as a therapist, I have been a consent educator for 8 years. I develop curricula and programming to teach others how to create a culture of consent.

MY approach & Specializations

My therapy approach is to work in collaboration with my clients. I believe that you are the expert on your life, so my role is to be a guide who can inspire new ways of thinking and engaging with issues that are challenging you. To do this, I combine evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions, and draw on my own life experiences.

My specializations include:

  • Life and career transitions

  • Relationships

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Workplace trauma

  • **Beyonce super fan, here!

**I believe that pesto sauce goes on just about everything.

**I can usually find humor in any situation.

**I love Target as much as the next person.

**I watch way too much TV. If you need surgery, I’ve watched enough ER and Grey’s Anatomy to perform one.

My approach to therapy centers on my desire to help clients discover, learn, grow and heal. In order to facilitate meaningful change, I use various evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I believe that clients are resourceful and possess a unique set of strengths that will aid them in the therapeutic process.

I have a strong expertise in working with older adolescent, college-aged, and adult populations. My specializations include anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment, academic and behavioral concerns.

my approach & specializations

I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist with over 12 years of experience treating children, adolescents, young adults, and families. As a Black clinician, I also provide a unique perspective by integrating a strong multicultural framework to fully understand your experiences, relationships, and the way you relate to the world around you. I am passionate about decreasing mental health stigma within communities of color and underserved populations.

As I always say, representation matters! I consider therapy a success when you meet the goals that you establish for yourself, can clearly identify improvements in your quality of life, and have developed strong skills and tools to maintain long-term well-being.

Outside of my life as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I enjoy binge-watching television shows, reading, traveling, concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
